The story of Justin Boots dates back to 1879, when a man named H.J. Justin moved to Spanish Fort, Texas to pursue a career as a boot repairman. With a natural talent for boot making, H.J. quickly established his own boot company, Justin Boots, operating out of his own home to cater to the cowboys passing through town. Recognizing the potential for growth, H.J. relocated his family to Nocona, Texas in 1889 following the construction of a railroad, allowing for greater market opportunities.

In 1908, Justin Boots truly became a family business when H.J.'s sons, Earl and Avis, joined the company. Their combined efforts led to a significant expansion, with production doubling within just two years. By 1910, Justin Boots were being sold in 26 states, as well as Mexico, Canada, and Cuba. After H.J. Justin's passing in 1918, his sons relocated the company headquarters to Fort Worth, where it continues to thrive to this day.
